Hello there and welcome! I am a clinical therapist here at Indy Therapy & Counseling and have been here since August of 2020. First and foremost, my aim is to create a safe space for my clients to be themselves and not feel judged. I want to ensure that my clients feel heard and understood in my care. This is extremely important to me as I am also in long-term recovery from depression, trauma and anxiety myself and did not always have a positive experience in my own treatment in the past. With that said, it would be an honor if you would allow me to walk with you in your journey toward healing. I work very hard to ensure that my clients feel safe and comfortable in their sessions with me.
Since entering the field I have worked with people experiencing trauma reactions, depression, addictions, anxiety, relationship difficulties, religious and spiritual concerns, psychosis and more. I have had the great privilege of watching those that I work with grow and prosper.
I approach treatment through a variety of methods, individually tailored to fit each person’s specific strengths and needs. These evidence-based methods include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, various Somatic therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness techniques and couples therapy to name a few.
Some personal notes about me: I grew up in a small town here in Indiana and now I live in Indianapolis with my husband and our two kitties, Binks and Ezra. Nature, travel, cycling, and theatrical arts are a few of my favorite things in life and help me stay grounded. I participate in community theater around Indianapolis as well. I often seek out projects that help the community discuss mental health through the arts. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your interests as well!
