Ethany Michaud

Hello there!  I am a clinical therapist and graduated from IUPUI with my master’s degree in social work and a concentration in mental health and addiction.  Since then I have worked in a variety of different clinical settings ranging from high schools to dual diagnosis clinics treating both mental health and addiction throughout Indianapolis. I have had the great privilege of watching those that I work with grow and prosper.  My specialties include the following:

Bipolar Disorder

Other Mood Disorders

Personality Disorders

Relationship Challenges

I approach treatment through a variety of methods, individually tailored to fit each person’s specific strengths and needs.  These evidence-based methods include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness techniques and couples therapy to name a few.

My aim is to create a space for my clients to be themselves and heal.  First and foremost, I want to ensure that my clients feel heard, understood and safe in my care.  When dealing with some of the previously mentioned mental health disorders, it is easy to feel isolated and unsure of what the future may hold.  In long-term recovery from depression and anxiety myself, I know how overwhelming it can feel to be struggling with some of these symptoms.  Having come through that struggle myself and helped numerous others through the process of healing as well, it would be an honor if you would allow me to walk with you in your journey toward your healthier self!

Some personal notes about me: I grew up in a small town here in Indiana and now I live in Indianapolis with my fiancé and our Collie, Esme.  Nature, cycling, and theatrical arts are a few of my favorite things in life and help me stay grounded.  Occasionally, I participate in community theater projects in Indianapolis as well.  I hope to one day combine theater and mental health into an art therapy form.   I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your interests as well!
