"No one cares how much you know,
until they know how much you care."
I am an LCSW and LCAC specializing in difficulties related to substance abuse and mental health, including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and self-defeating behaviors. This is accomplished through the use of CBT and Motivational Interviewing techniques. A stages-of-change approach is also utilized in assisting clients in self-determining making positive changes to empower themselves and avoid negative life consequences.
I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Purdue in 1997. My master's degree in Social Work was completed in 2000 from Indiana University. I have worked with adults and completed my Master's mental health internship at the Indianapolis Roudebush VA Hospital. I assisted in the design of the residential substance abuse program for Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation and directed that program for several years. I have also been the Clinical Director for an outpatient substance abuse program and been involved in private practice for both mental health and substance abuse treatment.
I have lived in central Indiana most of my life. I have three amazing children, one having special needs. I know, personally, the journey of overcoming life challenges. My faith has been instrumental in that journey. I enjoy travel, dance, photography, music, singing, and family/friends. I have two incredible cat companions and am an animal lover.
